.... it was never really taken seriously until the 1940’s, when it was considered as a symptom of anorexia (Epstein 40). For many years bulimia was associated with anorexia as if it was a joint disease. Finally, in 1979, doctor G.F.M. Russell was the first physician to describe this disorder as a separate disease from anorexia to which he called it bulimia nervosa (Epstein 40). Today this disease has seemed to grow to quite an absurd level. Unlike when this disease began in the early 20th-century, there are no longer a few rare cases ....
