It was while the first provincial legislatur was sitting that Mrs.
Emily Murphy, born in Cookstown, Ontario, in 1868, was educated at Bishop
Strachan's School in Toronto. In 1904 she and her husband moved to
Winnipeg where Mrs. Murphy conducted the literary secti .... Part II of Essay .... that the bill, when passed, was substantially as she
wished. It was on this occasion that Mrs. Murphy, most hapily married to
the Reverend Arthur Murphy, received a letter from a grateful but
