Marco Polo was born in Venice, Italy in 1254. His father, Nicoḷ, and uncle Maffeo were both Italian merchants. When it was around 1269, Marco Polo finally met his father and uncle after their travels from China. They talked about Kublai Khan, a Mongol leader them, who sen .... Part II of Essay .... later, Marco Polo was caught and put in a prison in Genoa. There, he and his Russian friend, Rustichello wrote Divisament dou Monde, a book about his travels, especially China. He died when he was around 70 years old in 1324.
Marco Polo's father and uncle, Nicoḷ and Maffeo, were very influential to him. They themselves were explorers and they were the ones who had brought him to China and other countries in Asia. They visited and traded a lot, therefore he was more open to other people in the world. His travels especially to China inspired ....
