Gothic fiction is, quite simply, man taking a “walk on the dark side.” There is, undeniably, no novel which epitomizes the popular Gothic structure more than Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley’s early 19th-century masterpiece, (actually entitled, , or the Modern Prometheus).
