Residents began to accept them as a part of daily life. On April 10, 1935, a dust storm rolled through Texas and Oklahoma and on to Kansas. The storm lasted for over twenty-four hours, and set a record for intensity and duration of a storm. This storm came four days before the dreadful “black blizzard” that hit Amarillo, Texas on April 14 ....
