The essay "Memory and Imagination" by Patricia Hampl, is the essay that I enjoyed reading the most out of all the others. I find she is very honest in her essay. The title itself tells you that it will be about memory, but it makes you wonder about how imagination relates .... Part II of Essay .... ... I had nothing as remarkable in my own background? “(248). We remember things not because we want to but because it was something that affected as greatly. She says: “ We only store images of value... Pain likes to be vivid.” (245). Like if for instance as a child we missed out on something and we used to envy other kids who had it, we will never forget it. When she says pain likes to be vivid, she meant painful memories are always remembered. It’s like if pain wanted to always be there to remind you of your worst moments. You can’t forget ....
