In 1939, many nations of the world were engaged in the Second World War, and the United States was on the brink of entering the war. It was a time of hostility and belligerence between many countries. However amidst the warfare, such hostility was also evident within the .... Part II of Essay .... too quickly. Even still, after granted the right to fly, their superior officers who, by no doubt, were white continually faced them with borders and barriers of racism and discrimination. Although these men were discriminated against by their own countrymen because of the color of their skin, they nonetheless displayed valor and courage, revealing that they were in fact Americans who ironically fought for freedom regardless of the color of their skin, ultimately paving the way towards an integrated Armed Air Forces.
