.... sat down to rest.”(117) As she rested, Phoenix started thinking about how hungry she is and imaging a food being brought to her. “But when she went to take it there was just her own hand in the air.”(117) Imagining Phoenix condition, she can only wish and stay strong enough to keep walking. She didn’t stop there. Phoenix knew she needed to find a safe place, so she would not face harm. Even though she was hungry. Phoenix has made it “Through the maze now.”(117) It will be easier for Phoenix to continue walking “for there was no path.”(117) ....
